HD Set-Top-Boxes

Comcast specializes in a number of services relevant to digital entertainment. On the cable end, it provides set-top boxes to coincide with its cable service, which allow users to watch digital and high definition channels of their favorite TV programming. Comcast's set-top-boxes also feature an interactive guide that includes On Demand and Pay-Per-View.

There are a number of set-top-boxes offered by Comcast that provide a high-definition (HDTV) viewing experience. For instance, the Motorola DCH3200, DCH6200, DCT5100, DCT6200, DCX3200, and DCX3200M are all HD set-top-boxes that provide crystal clear programming. Many of the aforementioned models made by Motorola and offered to customers of Comcast have received favorable reviews.

HD DVRs

Comcast offers digital video recorders (DVRs), which allow users to record and watch a TV program with the option to pause, stop, fast-forward, rewind, and play live TV in slow motion. This is all made possible through the DVR receiver that is designed to record TV programming in a digital format.

As for DVRs offered by Comcast, like the set-top-boxes, Motorola manufactures almost the entire selection. There is the Motorola DCH3416, DCH6416, DCT3400, DCT6208, DCT6412, and DCX3400. The only DVR that Comcast carries not made by Motorola, is the Pace TDC757D.

Digital Adapters

Since 2009, it has been mandatory to have a digital adapter for any analog television that wishes to receive programming signals. Comcast primarily gives out one generic model digital adapter, which features the Comcast logo. As far as it seems, the company does not have multiple brands they offer in terms of digital adapters.

Comcast Profile

Comcast as a cable and internet provider company has an expansive reach, with many services available to its customers. In many cases, Comcast will bundle internet and cable into one package they call Xfinity (their "instant entertainment" brand) Double Play, resulting in one monthly bill for both services. In addition, they typically throw in perks, such as a free HBO subscription.

It'll be interesting to see how the nations #1 cable provider moves forward into 2013. What have your experiences been with Comcast? How was their tech support? How was Comcast's pricing compared to other pay TV providers like DirecTV and Dish Network?
