Well that's a surprise. I wonder how many folks are taking advantage of it. Of course, I don't have Blu Ray and have no intention of getting Blu Ray so it doesn't affect me.

Warner Bros vastly expands DVD2Blu disc swapping program

Warner Bros vastly expands DVD2Blu disc swapping program | MyCE – My Consumer Electronics

From the article:

"Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has decided to sweeten the deal for DVD collectors who are looking for an economical way to upgrade their titles to Blu-ray Disc.

The “DVD2Blu” program previously only allowed people to mail in their DVD movies, plus a fee, in exchange for a boxed copy of the same film on Blu-ray disc. Now, Warner will accept any DVD in exchange for the Blu-ray titles they’ve selected for the program and have also dropped the fee to $4.95 for most titles." ...

SWEET deal, even though I don't own a blu-ray. What if I went to the dollar store and picked up some crummy DVDs, and sent them in? By the way, most titles are $4.95 + shipping, and you can upgrade up to 25 DVDs.

"Warner will accept any DVD that contains “professionally produced content” with the exception of pornography. In addition to American movies, content can include foreign films, TV, sports, animation or documentaries."
Shiping is flat rate $4.95 per order, they send you a pre-paid mailing label for your DVD returns. You need only send the DVD, not the packaging.
