help!!! how do i set the digital converter box back to default settings? i changed something under the settings and now all i have is a blue screen. how do i reset it back to default settings?

Suggestions:
1) Unplug it. Let it sit for 3 minutes. Plug it back in.
2) If that doesn't work, get the model number. Copy it carefully into google enclosed in quotes. add the word reset and press [Enter]
3) If that doesn't work, try eliminating any spaces, dashes or other special characters in the model number.
4) If none of the above work, you may have a broken box.

You didn’t mention the model you are using. So here I suggest a general method used to reset digital converter box to default settings.
1. Turn on your converter box, go to the "Function" menu and then select "Factory Reset."
2. Enter your PIN number (created during the initial setup) when prompted. This will restore your converter box factory settings.
3. Select "Auto Scan" from the menu once the reset process is complete and push "Rescan." This will reset your channels. When the setup wizard appears, follow the onscreen prompts.
If you don’t want to reset your channels skip the third step.

If you never set up a PIN, you don't have one, and don't need to worry about this.

Tell us the make and model.

I doubt that simply unplugging it would work since a lot of devices store their settings in NVRAM and won't lose settings when power goes out.
