Directv app network error message on android devices with Directv app preinstalled -

Android devices that have the Directv app preinstalled will not let customers sign into the Directv app. An error message comes up saying network problem please check your network connection and relaunch app. I've tried via wifi and I've tried on regular data, I am unable to uninstall the app because it's built into the phones software I am only able to disable the app. I'm an AT&T employee and I have so many customers this is affecting and I really need to know the fix for this please.
