Dish too far away? - DirecTV

I have tried to have DirecTV installed at my house a few times and every time the intallers tell me that the only place where I can get a consistent signal is in my backyard about 200' away from my house. I was told there is some kind of amplifier or something that I can use in order to span this distance but the techs never told me about it when they were out here. I guess my question is - is it possible to put a DirecTV dish 200' away from the house and still get a good signal and picture on my TV?

This question, "Dish too far away?," is about DirecTV channels, programming, equipment, and sports.
