Dish's "Sling TV" Now Available!!!

Staff member
Dish Network's "Sling TV" is now available on tablets, phones, and streaming devices including Roku 1, 2, 3, LT, Roku Streaming Stick, HS, XS, XD, and Roku TVs. It will also be available soon on Amazon Fire TV and the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

This new generation TV service gives a truncated package of channels (ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, ABC Family, CNN, El Rey, and Galavision) for a truncated price ($20). There is no contract, and the subscriber can cancel their subscription at any time. Sling also announced that its basic offering will soon be adding AMC. There are targeted channel packages (news, sports, and kids) available for $5 more than the basic package. The reason that Dish is able to make the offering at this price is that the package doesn't include local stations (which most people can watch for free using an antenna) or equipment, and it uses existing internet infrastructure. Is this the future of pay TV?
