Let me know how that works for you. I am using the 104 right now on my roof although I wired around the amp because all it seemed to do was amplify interference, and replaced the white cable with heavy r-6 cable.

What are the best tv pre_amp on the market. I have one it is phillips it seems to me me to do better than the radio shack or the channel master. THe db on mine is 24db for vhf on 23db for uhf. There is one on ebay that says 36db it is only the inside not a two part like the one I got.

A lot of people love the Channel Masters but you can't go wrong with Radio Shack's preamps either. I'm sure Piggie and Don_M can elaborate on it a bit more, here's a really good thread to look at http://www.dtvusaforum.com/dtv-hdtv-reception-antenna-discussion/3258-best-antenna-amp.html

It's a very similar style.

I rank them like this...

Philips MANT940
Radio Shack DA 5200
HD 650

There are similar from Funke, Digiwave, Monoprice, and GE. Some of which Ive tested and physically inspected GE, Monoprice, and others I havent.

However I can recommend the 3 listed. The Philips mounted sideways with the pointy side up gives you something on VHF High....and also has the best weatherproofing materials and features.

The Radio Shack DA 5200 and the HD 650 have great heavy duty articulating arm mounts, which I like better than the Philips MANT940's.

You can get the HD 650 for about $15 to $30 shipped on eBay, so it may be the best value.

They are all pretty good on UHF, and their mounting versatility and accessories encourage looking for a sweet spot, which helps greatly as well.

Hope that helps.
