E15 is a new satellite designed mainly for broadcasting CONUS (a signal covering the entire continental United States) so more national HD for the eastern states are in the works as this satellite is going to the 61.5° slot to replace the fast failing E3 bird.

In the meantime, expect more HD channels to get moved from 61.5° to 72.7°. I hope all you EA (eastern arc) people have your new Dish 1000.4 (Turbo HD) set ups already. If not, you are already unable to get some HD channels you may be paying for and are about to loose more. As I stated in another thread, I just called and got the new dish for free and no commitment but some are saying they are being asked to pay.

If the CSR you talk to won't give you the free upgrade, hang up and call again. If you are paying for HD and have the 61.5°/110°/119° (2 dish set up in much of the the eastern states), you really need to do this NOW! Make sure you are only paying $10.00 for all of your HD channels. Also make sure you have all ViP series receivers as well or you will loose lots more channels on the non-ViP receivers.

If you are in the west, this does not affect you. WA (western arc) HD folks want the Dish 1000.2 that is aimed at 110°/119°/129° for all of your channels and only the HD channels require ViP receivers.

If you are not sure what you have, press menu on your remote, then 6, 1 and 3. You will then see what satellites you are aimed at. Then cancel out back to regular TV. Tune to a local (LiL) HD channel, press menu, 6,1 and 1. What satellite is this channel coming to you on? If it's 61.5° and you have 2 dishes, you may need to upgrade but in some locations special conditions apply. If you are not sure, ask. And you can do that right here by registering on dtvusaforum.com and ask right here.

UPDATE: Echostar 15 is on schedule to launch on July 10, 2010. I just learned that Dish is on the fast track to get this bird operational as the old satellite is failing fast. It should be sending us signals by early August.

The official launch page has just been activated.. Echostar XV Mission Control

This satellite is going to carry all CONUS signals so once operational, it will be the primary national HD satellite for EA customers.

It looks like the launch will be broadcast live on the web site and I am sure Dish customers will be able to see it on TV as well.

Some others may want to try this. The numbers will be different in other parts of the country. Especially the odd numbers from tp's 1 - 15. Those are all spots from E-12. If you want to try, press menu, 6 - 1 - 1. Set the satellite to 61.5 and start from tp 1 then go up the list.

Only people who see 61.5 can do this. No western arc people can see 61.5°.

Over the next few days and weeks I will edit my list and point out all signals that come from E-15.

Nice increases on Tp's 2, 21, 25 and 29. I don't know why Tp 28 occasionally dropped as low as 30 at times.

Well no more problems with tp 28. New tp 32 is now live. NO signals lower than 40 anywhere. This is good.

I just noticed that we are really seeing some HBO channels on tp 28 from E-15. Possibly others but I need to get to work now.
