Email not downloading into certain folders - app just spins and doesn't respond - XFinity

My Xfinity Connect app has been spinning (blue circle) and not responding when switching to a different email folder, such as Sent or Spam. This can go on for minutes and the folder does not update. I wonder if it's because I had previously sent large images as attachments, and they can't be downloaded? I have plenty of RAM in my phone. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S20 5G Android phone and have already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app. Can anyone help? Thanks!
