FCC implementing Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (CALM Act)

The commission has taken steps to implement the 2010 Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act, or the CALM Act, in which Congress gave the commission authority to address excessive commercial loudness, a written statement said.
Rules adopted Tuesday will require commercials to have the same average volume as programs they accompany.

I say, let the people decide their volume preferences on their TV sets, not the advertisers.
