TBS did something brilliant, I think, with the broadcasting of the final four games in the men's basketball tournament. They provided a national broadcast on TBS, but used hometown announcers for each team on simultaneous alternate broadcasts on TNT and TruTV. So if you wanted neutral commentary, you watched the main broadcast. But if you are a fan of either team and want the hometown spin, you had that option as well. As I said, I think it was a great idea. The problem seems to be that they didn't do a good enough job letting people know what the situation was.
