Question: Have Your Ever Thought About Working for PBS?

#1
Practically everyone has watched PBS growing up as a child. From Arthur to Clifford The Big Red Dog. It is such a great network for children to enhance their learning. The ideal channel for education. But he real question is, Have you ever thought about becoming apart of the PBS family? I have thought about being on different television shows for a while now. Maybe one day even creating my own television show. If you're serious or considering about working for PBS, than some of their areas of employment are , but no limited to communications, creative services, programming, interactive services, information technology, development, engineering and accounting. To find out how to apply for a position at PBS, go to Career Opportunities : PBS

Yea, I would like that job. But when I go to PBS and follow the link to my local PBS station, I get:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Either the server messed up or there are no openings. I'm thinking the latter, since there are no links on the site for "careers" etc.

I'm experiencing similar problems with the PBS site. Links to career opportunities options on my local site keep taking me to the wrong pages and it's not clear where the information is from the homepage. I would very much like to work/volunteer for PBS so any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. How about a different set of links?

Maybe the problem is that they have so many volunteers that they aren't hiring any paid workers?

I would suggest going to your local station's site, and looking for the "careers" page on there. The link on the page provided above does not work for me, either, but there ARE jobs available. For my local affiliate, it is under "about" at: WQED Multimedia: About Us: Careers Volunteering and Internships are also under "about," but in different sections than careers. (Obviously, each station's site may be different.)

That's interesting, I guess it's all how you look for it. Still wouldn't want to. I'm sure I could be wrong but I just imagine it being the most boring place to work....SNL skits have done nothing to help my outlook LOL!

Sort of like how Parks and Rec portrays public radio?
