It appears that the amplifier you are using is either not HDCP compatible or maybe even has a fault (or perhaps needs a firmware/software upgrade?)

If the amp ist HDCP compatible:

Connect the bluray player back to the TV directly, and then use either the coaxial digital audio output, or the optical output, between the bluray player and the amplifier.

Alternatively, buy one of the various units online that are capable of "stripping" the HDCP information from the HDMI signal.

the amplifier is HDCP compatible even appears clear in manual if your TV is not HDCP compatible do not use this AV system.

i also tried directly to my TV the blu ray player and same just can get video via composite output.

my TV and the amplifier is not the problem there because also have tried other HDMI sources and no problems, sent an mail to Philips and they says that needs gets the player evaluated professionally, but i think the cost of fixn something would be more elevated than a new unit.

a nice learned thing is never anymore Philips products, they were good in the past now are just piece of junk , just have this Blu ray player AN YEAR and do not use every weekend or every day and just last 1 YEAR is a shame i think even an LG or Panasonic Blu ray player would surpassed 1 year.

amplifier do not have any port for upgrade anything and i do not think have any problem

If you are absolutely sure, that the problem is not TV related:

1 - Connect the player directly to the TV, using a tested HDMI cable;

If the problem persists:

2 - It may be related to the software upgrade you made to your Phlips player, you dont say if you have tested succesfully the player after the upgrade;

Can you "Downgrade" your player firmware ?

3 - If you can, try it;

If you dont, you must accept that the player is at fault ... :p

Francisco,

Four or five years ago I bought two Philips DVD players, one for my office and one as a Christmas gift. The following Christmas I learned the gift DVD Player lasted about six months and quit and my office unit quit working after 14 months. For the heck of it, I tried the Composite output connectors and the unit works fine, but its HDMI output is dead.

For now, I'm with you regarding Philips and until I see stellar reviews I will not buy that brand again.

will just try downgrading the FW version i hope get good results

no results so downgrade the first version of FW now

But have you tried the Philips BP player on another TV, using another HDMI cable, for instance at a friends home ?

If it also doesnt work, even with older firmware, the Philips BD player is broken.

If it works, you have a strange situation over there ... :p
