KTLA can be seen for FREE, and in better high-definition quality, with a simple antenna in your house or on the roof*. Most flat screen TVs purchased in the last 3-4 years have a high-definition DTV tuner built right in. Simply plug in an antenna, go into the tv menu and select antenna and channel scan, and your done. (Refer to your owners manual.) Its that easy. In addition to KTLA being FREE, and BETTER QUALITY, viewers will also receive our digital channels Antenna TV (your favorite classic TV shows) and THIS TV (your favorite classic movies). ALL FREE...

All LA broadcasters transmit in the same fashion. All for FREE.

KTLA has suddenly decided to promote their OTA signal. The reason is that they are currently in a retransmission fight with DirecTV. In an area like LA, where there are so many channels, DirecTV may discover that they will lose customers once people discover free over the air DTV.

Of course, you have to be in that area to get the channel. I miss the days around here when we got those top NY, Chicago, and LA channels. They were removed decades ago as being redundant. Ah -- no.

Yes, 1992, when Congress passed the cable act that required cable to carry all the full power stations in their DMA and restricted them from importing same network stations from distant markets. While it might be a pain for you, it was good for the local TV stations that depend on you watching for their livelihood.

We always had the local stations and those nearby. That's why it was redundant. We didn't gain anything by it. Considering that WGN is carried by many stations outside of its zone, it obviously is not considered redundant by everyone.
