I do not like the new format and look

#1
I've been gone longer than i thought. is there any way possible to restore the look and feel of this forum to the way it was 1 year ago? when it was faster? i can barely do anything anymore, and the site takes longer to load on a 1GHz machine than Facebook would on a 486DX

Someone change it back! i hate this interface! and the colors are all wrong.

My system is pretty much to spec, not new but:

1GHz P-III
512MB RAM
Google Chrome

You've been gone for too long! There's no way to go back to the old format. What operating system are you on? Have you thought about upgrading your ram?

All my stuff is recycled and taken from dumpsters. i try to not promote consumerism. i freecycle most of my tech. my computer runs Windows XP SP3, and was upgraded recently from a paltry 256MB of RAM to a nicer 512MB RAM. it has, according to Task manager, at least 256MB free even with no page file (virtual RAM slowed it down even more) i have run spyware scans and virus scans nothing showing up. i have tweaked XP for maximum performance and only 16 tasks are running. DTVUSA was so simple and the forum lay out easier. now it is to one side and the site overall takes longer to load than i prefer. last time i viewd and interacte with the site i was using a 600MHZ P-III running Linux with only 256MB RAM and that was before this change.

Is there a setting i can change for myself that would make it at least sorta like it used to be?

I'm old fashioned and love things to stay where they were. especially since one other forum i frequented, Allpar.com, changed like this and it sucks to use. i kinda like things to stay the same.

I've been skinning templates for my other forums, I could load them up here and let you choose which one you're comfortable with? What's the biggest difference between the new layout vs the old? I've used the same background and color scheme. The new software takes advantage of the latest styling elements used with website design but overall, there shouldn't be any difference with colors.

Completely understood bud, but with the internet and computers, it's hard to keep things the same. Especially with keeping up with search engines and web browsers.

Try loading with a different browser. While it could be RAM oriented, Chrome might be part of the problem. Try Firefox or IE and see what happens.

I still like the old format. even on Seamonkey version 1.1.8 it is slower than molasses.

Jay the skinning idea seems nice. basically i want the older Vbulletin interface i used back when i was a newbie. or something like it. where the forums are also the first thing i land on when i type in 'dtvusaforum.com.'

Colors are not too awful i just liked the older software. right now the forum listings are to the left side of my screen as opposed to the middle horizontally oriented.
