Intermittent drops with Comcast Internet

Starting in November of 2011, I started having problems with my modem losing connection to the internet. It would happen every other day or so which I could fix by doing a power cycle. Then, a couple of weeks ago, the intermittent disconnections started happening every day and the only way I could fix it was by unplugging the cable modem and re-plugging it back in. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this? I haven't changed any configuration settings in months.

Definitely contact Comcast. Oftentimes, it is nothing to do with you, but with a line outside and maybe even the transponder boxes, or whatever they are called. When that kind of thing happened to me earlier this year, it was the box that connected the entire block.
