internet keeps disconnectiong from DVR - DirecTV

My wireless connection for my Direct TV DVR's will not stay connected. As a result, DirectTV ON DEMAND will not download any movies selected, I cannot watch trailers, or any other feature requiring that connection. With that being said, I have no problems with DirectTV CINEMA. I assume these features use different ways of connecting. My questions:

1. What speed of service do I need? My current Internet provider is offer 150 Mbps but I only have 35 at this time.
2. What does DirectTV CINEMA work by DEMAND does not?
