After reconnecting the power supplies and coax cables on a antenna/booster feeding a RCA converter box for an analog TV the TV reception is bad. Before disconnect reception was satisfactory. The TV shows wavy lines that change somewhat with channel changes; the volume increases but only gives a sizzle. The box indicates the white and green lights for off and on.

Does this indicate the TV is gone, or is the box bad? How can I check the coax cables if they may be the problem?

Are you using a composite video input (yellow, red, and white) or a coax cable between the converter box and the TV? If the coax, is the TV turned to the right channel (3 or 4)?
