Is Dish network aggressively advertising on the radio in your market?

I listen to 540 AM WFLA streaming for Coast to Coast AM, and I've been hearing a LOT of ads for dish network... usually along the theme of "cable giants are raising rates, get dish network, disable the cable" etc. Seems like they're getting aggressive in the central Florida market.

But are they doing the same in your market?

I get tons of mail, newspaper, radio and TV ads for all providers. DirecTV still sends me a letter at least once a month begging me to come back.

If only OTA TV had an advertising budget...

"Our old cable company was getting way to expensive that why we cancelled cable and called Dish Network." Those ads run all the time on TV, including on the subchannels. I'm sorry, I've got free TV, I don't need cable or Dish Network. Best HD on the networks, a movie channel, an oldies channel, a music video channel that actually plays music videos, and NBC-Universal Sports. :)

I haven't listened to the radio for a long time . The radio in my car is busted, and I don't listen at home or in the office.

I listen all the time. It doesn't use any internet bandwidth, (my isp has a daily cap) and it has some variety, plus current world and local news. I've got 2 receivers hooked up to my TV antenna, and while they are not designed for FM, they do a good job pulling in locals.

And it doesn't cost anything.

I don't stream off the internet either. For music I either turn on "The Cool TV" or listen to my CD collection ripped to my hard drive. I have my music stored both at home and at work.

We saw only one DishTV ad earlier this week, but tonight we lost count of all the new car ads on CBS and FOX. Nissan ran two different commercials, VW and Toyota tied for three runs of their newest, Hyundai, Jeep, Honda and Kia ran single ads.

After today's announcement of the final accounting/sale of Chrysler and the dollar loss to the American taxpayer of $1,560,000,000.00 it makes me wonder who paid for the ads they ran tonight?

Of course, being in one of two "test-States" where GMAC is offering FREE car insurance for one year with every Chevy sold, we do know who is paying for those commercials. If you don't live in Washington or Oregon, you probably haven't heard about this new idea from Obama Motors.
