Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg Announce Engagement

Well, we can chalk the recent Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg engagement announcement up to the wedding that we all wish we saw when the couple was 20 and not in their 40s! Better late than never I guess. McCarthy revealed on ‘The View’ on Wednesday that she and Wahlberg are engaged to be married! This will be the second marriage for each of the Hollywood stars.

When Did Wahlberg Pop the ‘Question’?

Last weekend, Donnie Wahlberg along with the help of former Playboy model McCarthy’s 11 year old son, Evan, popped the question. She obviously accepted, and after exclaiming that “I just got engaged!” showed off her engagement ring that is highlighted by a yellow sapphire stone! Shortly after her announcement, Wahlberg joined his bride to be on ‘The View.’

How Did the First Marriages Go for McCarthy and Wahlberg?

Jenny McCarthy’s first marriage to John Asher ended in 2005 after getting married on September 11th of 1999. Donnie Wahlberg was also previously married to Kim Fey and they were divorced in 2008. Despite having a pretty serious relationship with Jim Carrey, McCarthy was on the record as believing that she would not marry again. Despite this belief, it does appear as though Wahlberg was able to change her mind after hinting at this as early as this past November.

It went under most people's radars, and faded fast, but NBC's time-bending, multi-perspective cop show Boomtown from the early 2000s which Wahlberg starred in was really interesting too. I think Donnie is a fine actor and in 'Blue Bloods' he has a really solid vehicle for his work. McCarthy has done great on The View and has been really effective in helping the show replace some of its favorites while also shedding dead weight. They 'seem' a great match, good luck to them!
