Need a replacement remote control for converter box

My dog destroyed my remote control for my converter box. Is there a remote that I can buy to replace the remote or do I need to purchase a brand new box? I'd prefer to replace the dog actually. LOL.

Newer universal remotes will worker for converter boxes. I use a Philips model that I got at Walmart.

Yes, destroyed it completely. He's normally a good dog, but I think he had mistaken the remote for a bone.

What model of converter box do you have? sometimes you can find the remote on ebay

does the universal remote for the converter box also have a channel scan on them?

The universal remote should give you access to the menu, where the channel scan functionality will be found in one of the sub-menus

I brought a converter box at the local good will but there was no controller i just goggle the converter box remote and was able to purchase one on line, I prefer to use the OEM remote in stead of the universal remote you may be able to use a universal remote if you can find the ""code"" you need

Just do a general search for "replacement remote control". Sometimes you can find originals as well.

I've tried 2-3 universal remotes from WalMart etc and haven't been able to get any to work. The website for the converter box I bought is "dead" [http://www.dsconverter.com/] so I finally did the old-fashioned thing and phoned the 800 [866] # on my box. THAT worked. The man told me the best way to get a guaranteed replacement for the box I got is to visit THIS website where the original remote is $14.99 which includes shipping.[ http://www.getmyelectronics.com/col...r-digital-stream-converter-box-model-dtx9950]. And for those more adept and getting universal remotes to actually function with your analog>digital converter box, the correct code for my box is "0354". That code WAS accepted by the remote but still didn't get 3 different remotes to work the converter. That helps me. My remote OK button stopped working and unable to rescan tv. I have the same model number box. I tried the website also and found out it was dead. Was going to call the 800 number to see if that works. But your post saves me the time and trouble.
