It should, since the CM-7000Pal is supposed to be an exact clone. But I don't think you're going to be able to find that either. Both machines are discontinued, and they want you to throw away your Pal and buy a Hopper or DVR+. You could try this procedure from the 7000Pal manual:

MANUAL said:
UPdATiNg ViA ETHERNET

Simply connect your Channel Master CM-7000PAL DVR to your broadband home
network using an Ethernet connection and once your Channel Master CM-7000PAL
DVR is in standby (turned off using the remote control, with the green front-panel
light out), it will automatically download the latest compatible software within
an hour. An immediate download can be forced by pressing the MENU button,
selecting Setup, Broadband, and then Software Update. For more information and
detailed software update instructions, please go to Home | Channel Master
Completing an Update via Ethernet

1. Connect the Ethernet port on the back of your Channel Master CM-7000PAL
DVR to your broadband modem/router using a standard network cable.
2. Access the Broadband Setup menu by pressing the MENU button, selecting
Setup, and then Broadband. Then select option 1, Network Setup.
3. If a Network Connection has been detected, select Done to return to the
Broadband Setup menu. If not, see Troubleshooting on page 42.
4. Select option 2, Software Update, from the Broadband Setup menu. A window
pops up, saying “Checking for IP update, please wait...”
5. “IP Download Available” should appear with the Download option highlighted.
The current software version and the new software version are displayed.
Press SELECT to start the software update; progress is displayed on the
“IP Update” screen.
6. The update should be completed automatically. You are advised not to power
off your Channel Master CM-7000PAL DVR. Once the software update is
complete, the receiver automatically restarts and displays the New Software
pop-up window to confirm the update was successful.
But I doubt it will still work. Or you could try this link from a third party:
Zippyshare.com - phpQYEZB5

I found two separate threads claiming this will work if you just rename the file to: TR50_F208_0HUC00.upd
*BUT* Don't blame me if it breaks something. I just work here. :playball:

thankyou for the info, i will have to look into what you suggest. i did find the 2 latest firmware versions for the cm 7400, i do not know if they will work or not.

is there a way to pull the f208 off the dtvpal itself??

also i have a clock problem, the unit is not keeping time like it did, is there an internal battery in the dtvpal that needs to be changed, like we used to do in some older computers, ??

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! The CM-7400 and the CM-7000pal/DTVpal DVR were not made by the same company and are not compatible with each other at all.

No. Like dkr said -- not the same machine

No idea. Probly might be a way, but I don't have a Pal DVR, and I haven't done that kind of hacking for ... geez ... guess it's 20 years now. Almost certain to be more work than you want to put into it, though.

I only have Google, just like you. Can't do all your work for ya!

@dkr: That's the link that leads to the link I gave, plus another link that goes to the dish site, which leads nowhere.

I believe the clock problem may be due to the lack of data from TVGOS since it was discontinued. Just a guess!
