This is a real issue. If you'd told me I'd like a show about high performance cars, I'd have laughed at you. I'd never have known to watch a show like BBC's Top Gear. I'm not even sure why I watched the first one, but I was hooked afterwards. And who knew something like Downton Abbey would be such a hit? That's PBS fare, for goodness sake! Now it's one of the top dramas in the country.

Sometimes you don't know what you like until you see it. Netflix's "big data" programming would squash that.
