Olympics are over

It was a terrific 16 days of competition. Every athlete who made it to the Olympics should be proud of the work it took to get there. China did a great job of hosting the summer games and the closing ceremonies were great, but I still liked the opening ceremonies better.

It really was spectacular. Opening and closing and all the games in between. I hear London is next and they have a budget of 16 billion dollars to get ready for it. I wonder if they will be able to outdo the Chinese in showmanship?
I think it'll be tough to outdo the Chinese. Juan Antonio Samaranch, former head of the IOC, was quoted as saying these were the best games ever. It'll be interesting to see how London handles the opening ceremony.
