For DirecTV TV services which include DVRs and receivers, Picture freezes, fixed by changing channel After almost 2 years with no problems, my whole home DVR system started doing this. You stay on one channel for about 45 minutes and the picture freezes. Changing the channel results in a perfect picture, changing back to the original channel and you still have a perfect picture. All signal strengths on responders are good mostly 95+. When it freezes, usually part or most of the screen is pixelated the way you expect when the signal goes low, but there is no motion at all, it is completely frozen and will remain that way until the channel is changed.
