Premier Protection Package - DirecTV

Why is it when we have a technician come out to correct the problems with our genie box they always give us a "new" genie box and then the next day I receive a thank you for signing up for the premier protection plan for $19.99 a month. I have never been asked if I want it, nor do I want it for that price. I don't like when directv adds fees and services without my knowledge and I believe there is a description for that. Unlawfully adding services to your bill without permission. Very sneaky operation. Aren't there enough scams out there? Deceitful way of doing business. Now I have to go out of my way to call and have them cancel that charge. I would like some proof that the "new" box we are getting is really new or just a refurbished model with the same problems.
