TV Fool says I'm 35mi from towers

Bought a Winegard FV-HD30, but not happy with the results. Can't get KGO-TV 7 (is it VHF?)
Will the Eagle Aspen, or the new Antenna Direct DB2E, or Leaf Ultimate work better?

(Note: this is for my Mother-in-Law, who lives in an Apt that doesn't allow outdoor antennas)

Thanks! :)

No, no, and no. KGO and KNTV are both VHF, everything else is UHF

KGO needs something akin to "rabbit ears", 26-36" tip to tip. A ClearStream 2V or a Terk HDTVi would fall into the correct category.

Is the Winegard FV-HD30 for sure pointed toward 305 degrees magnetic (northwest)? How many locations within the apartment have you tried it in?
I tried 5 locations/orientations. Unfortunately, 305deg points towards a wall, and beyond that, multiple apts/walls. Also tried her only window, but that faces East. The apt is on the ground floor, and has a 2nd story above it.

The more I think about it, it seems cable is the only option. :(
