Remote not working on Sansonic converter box

I've searched around for a code for the Sansonic Converter Box that would work with a universal remote, but no luck so far. Also, can't find a link for ordering a replacement remote because the Sansonic is so new.

Most likely there may NEVER be a universal remote for these converter boxes, because the universal remote control companies have to buy one of these to get the codes. Sadly, the market life appears to have ended, which it shouldn't have. We've only been given, what, 18 months to get these converter boxes, and over half of them have either reception, operational, or picture detail problems.

The Sansonic converter box is the product of several years of research done quite well. Are they going to let that well dry up completely? I hope they will release an updated version with more audio and video ouput choices to benefit older HDTVs.

It'll be interesting to see converter box failure rates and statistics at Consumer Reports and other ratings websites a year or two from now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Thank you. My puppy has chewed up and ruined 2 remotes in less than a week. Thankfully I had an extra Dish Network remote. I panicked when I found the converter box one, because you can't change channels without it, and I was stuck on "This TV" and I was afraid I was doomed to cheesy westerns and "The A-Team" until I could afford a new box.

The combo code didn't work for me, but the Toshiba DVD code did. Again. Thank you. I'm just a starving artist...lol. Dropping $40 is a big deal for me.

Aaron,

I know it's not too uncommon for someone to brag on his pet, but..
This little guy is one of the most intuitive dogs I've EVER had !

I think he knew I wanted him to stay still and look at the Camera,
and that's not the only time he seems to have a complete understanding of what's going on around him. It's uncanny !:eek:

Have a good Day ! :)

DTVU,

I can't tell you how long/badly I've wanted to relocate to an area where having "visits" such as Daisy does, were possible.

It would take four or more sections of land, for something like that to happen here in Texas, unless you lived next to one of the State Parks or Game Reserves. That'd add ten years to a guy's life, just sitting there and sharing that kind of husbandry. Lucky fella !

Have a good Day ! :)

DTV,

From what I've read here and elsewhere, for better reception your antenna screen (fence) should be oriented 90 degrees to the side! Oh, and where are the bow-ties? Ha ha! Ok, I'll leave now... :bolt:

Jim

PS Terrific photos and I suggest you start a home wildlife thread. I'd contribute. :thumb:

Jim,

HAY !, that's an idea !, I could set a TV up out there and maybe get some watchers on Animal Planet.
I know my pup would be out there for sure !

We watched both Shows (AKC & Westminster) the other day, and he's got a longer attention span than I do.

Have a good Day ! :)

If anyone is still looking for a replacement remote or universal remote code I have found two codes that I have verified that work with the sansonic FT 300a or clones

dish network remote model 3.1, 3.2 (inexpensive remote and readily available on ebay)
use code for toshiba tv: 617

oneforall model cinema 7
use code for toshiba tv: 0156

there is also a secret menu on the box that you can access with original factory remote:
1 put on any working channel
2 press ANT level
3 press 0000
>>>>>> menu will change
>>>>>> press down blue arrow
>>>>>> highlight load factory defaults
>>>>>> press blue ok button
>>>>>> will clear all , and return you to easy install menu
>>>>>> rescan

Some of the newer remotes say they control converter boxes. I'm not sure how many of them they will work for. Some day I may put them to the test as I have a bunch of different converters her!

BUT!
Chances are the new remote will outlive the converter boxes.
