Replacing speaker in box system

Staff member
Unfortunately boxed home theater system components cannot be easily replaced. You can try eBay or Craigslist for single speakers, but may end up being better off buying a whole new set up.
Why replace the whole system when you can just find a "like" sized speaker and connect it. That is unless each separate speaker is powered by its own amp but those systems are rare and expensive.

I have replaced Speakers in my HT Systems on several occasions (mostly age related)
Both Radio Shack and Crutchfield have individual Speakers that fit (power/size) just about every configuration.
It usually is a very simple fix, a few bolts, sometime some Soldering is necessary, but...
A DIY is MUCH cheaper than buying new stuff, and with a little research, sometimes provides results that is better than what you originally had.
