Fandom is a great thing especially when it helps viewers to come to a new appreciation of a favorite's actions or the quirks of a show. It is amazing what you can find on YouTube to illustrate this point. Making the rounds right now, for example, is a hilarious clip featuring Jonathan Frakes as Lt. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The hit followup to the original Star Trek series from the creative mind of Gene Roddenberry, ST: TNG focused on drama but did have its share of humor. Still, this apparently intentional act received little notice until youtube user WeirdHat uploaded a video called Riker Sits Down on May 2. As of this writing, it already has 851,649 views.

The short clip is only a little over a minute long, but it contains multiple episode clips of the way Frakes chose to sit down in the various chairs aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Instead of simply sitting, Frakes casually throws one leg over the top of the chair. He even gets up that way. It all makes for a bit of Next Generation fun whether you are a fan of the show or not.
