I'm thinking about upgrading my main HDTV this week. Question is, will the Roku Streaming Stick MHL make it as a viable alternative rather than buying a Roku 3 or getting a HDTV with built-in wi-fi? I just don't want to go the MHL route if it's not going to be around in a couple of years because no one buys it.

I don't think anyone can predict Roku's intentions with the streaming stick other than it's out now and I'm sure they're going to continue firmware updates on it.

As for as the MHL input goes, it does high speed data transfer and is a power source. It's an awesome option to have on an HDTV and I don't think it's going away any time soon.
