looks interesting your antenna nipcat, is one with reflector but is other shape, my question is get good reception or pull up many TV stations with that antenna?

my antenna shown here is a brazilean one that have 15dB and well i know the neighborhood where i am is ugly, but i am living there by accident, and well i do not know if did a good choose with get an reflector antenna, i think i did.

between i got back the channel 26, is weird till yesterday can not get the signal and today i connected my littler televison with turner built in and by magic art the channel 26 in my converter box get back, is this very weird to be truthfully.

best regards
Francisco

Temporary Antenna

I finally gave up on putting up with the continuing degrading performance of my outdoor antenna. My temporary solution is shown below. I'm going to be putting in an attic solution shortly, but the antenna shown outperforms the outdoor antenna on most channels, and it's not degrading in the weather.

You may want to experiment with a partial reflector - I'm going to try that with my homebrew antenna this spring. I've got 1 set of translators @ 10 miles (and very low power), and another @ 30. I'd like to boost the ones at 30 miles without losing the ones at 10 miles. TV Fool
That's an interesting concept. I hadn't thought of a "partial reflector." I have a house in the mountains that some folks here have suggested I'm going to need height and a big directional antenna to pick up Chattanooga. Most stations are 2Edge on TVFool, so a reflector is basically a requirement (or so I am informed). Still, I don't want to miss the other stations in the area that are off-direction that a reflector could eliminate. For example, I'm picking up ION and Univision by pointing my cheapy directional antenna south, but the nearby PBS station (located in the same direction as Chattanooga) isn't readable.

Is a partial reflector really a good idea? Could it preserve my access to ION while I aim for the Big 4 networks? Or am I so far out and behind so many hills that I'm kidding myself?

When I finally build my setup, I'll come back and post it here!

An reflector turns in a very directional antenna making hard to pick up channels unless use an motor to move the antenna,I suspect your major trouble it's more an weak signal or the place where it's PBS tx located, I have an similar trouble with an channel which sometimes comes good, others is not signal at all and others just a tiny 1% , probably you need is not an reflector antenna just an higher gain one which can pick up the weak signal and make it visible to your tv, I have worst troubles and that is an "supposed better system" but resulted be worst and in other country where my channels are at 9km (5miles)

Franciso,

You're right and now its back. Just over an hour ago I checked and it gave an 'expired' error message. Good catch, buddy!

I know it's the directionality of my antenna. It's pointed at roughly 180 true and PBS is at 309. Where the antenna is now, the house is in the way of the PBS signal, anyway. When I figure out what I'm doing for an antenna, I'll move it to the northwest corner of the house. And again, I'll snap some photos for this thread.
