Silly Tech Coming to AT&T U-verse

AT&T on Wednesday released an app that lets U-verse customers control their TVs through voice and hand gestures using an iPhone or iPad.

The U-verse Easy Remote App, available for free in the App Store, lets subscribers operate their TV with voice commands like channel up, fast forward, rewind, replay, pause, and record. Users can also control their TV with touch gestures like swiping left or right on the iPad screen to change the channel.

On second thought being able to say, 'I want to watch 'Seinfeld'" and having your TV find the show out of your 200 channels may save some time. And, I'm sure writing an I-app is a relatively cheap way to add something novel to your service. Just hope you can turn the silly thing off between channel changes.
