I have a suggestion. Please don't take it the wrong way. I notice when I click on New Posts on the toolbar, I can only see a couple of new posts. Is there a way to expand the options, so we can see all new posts within the past 24 hours and/or 48 hours? I have seen it on other forums and it is very helpful.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hmm, I'll have to check into that...I'm sure there is. I've noticed that too, and I think it only shows new posts since your last visit. You kind of lose out if you don't have enough time to view all posts in your current visit. I'll post an update here on the progress if I can adjust it.

Thanks Jay, it would be helpful. Sometimes we don't have time to go back thru the whole forum, so it's nice to check and take a quick look to see if there are any threads we might be interested in before moving on.

Yay!!!! It works perfectly now. Thanks so much!!! You're the best. I appreciate the extra time you put into it and so quickly, too. Yep, I'm easy to please.

Ooops, never mind. It must be time for me to go to bed. I could have sworn that when I clicked new post a minute ago, it told me there weren't any, but gave me an option to check for the post in the last 24 hours. I just checked again and nothing but this thread was there and no additional options. Or maybe it's just a work in progress. I'll just take that thought with me to bed. Good night, everyone.

Sometimes when I log in I have the option of seeing the last posts for the past 24 hours. I like this option. It helps the board to be a little less overwhelming. I don't always have time to check each sub-forum to see if any new threads or post have been made. However, most of the time when I log in I don't have the extra option of checking the post for the last 24 hours. It may only show two or three.

Thankfully, this time when I logged in I got this message, with the extra option;

vBulletin Message
Sorry, there are no new threads to view.

You may search for threads updated during the previous 24 hours, here.

Why is this option here only some of thetime?

I think the vbulletin system will automatically assume you do not want to see those threads once you've clicked the new post's button. So the next time you come back to visit, it'll only show you posts between your last visit. Don't quote me on that, hehe. :D

To automatically check posts made in the last 24 hours, I use the Quick Links option at the top right and click on Today's Posts:

Thanks Jay for pulling up the quick links option. I had forgotten about that very useful tool. It can take you almost anywhere you want to go with just a click of the button. Thank you for all do you to keep this board running so smoothly.

Listing URL's

Hi,

When I type or paste a url in a reply to a thread. I discovered that if I put the url exactly as it should be such as; the www dot and dot and so on. Then when I submit the reply and return to the thread and look at the reply that I just posted. The url that I put on that reply had turned into an ad rather than showing the url.

I have been listing these url's that I reference leaving out the dots or the www so that it will not be a good address that will turn into an ad. I think that most people can probably figure it out and insert the dots or whatever if they want to.

I think about it and possibly someone may be looking for help that I am doing the reply for. They may not know to insert the dots and whatever to make the url address work. If they click on the ad that the url turns into they would probably get to that web site anyway. I am not wanting to post ads all over the forum either. I may refer to a product or a company as being one that I bought from with or without any problems. I am not wanting to endorse any company.

Now if a company is doing something to support this forum then that is a different matter. Then it is called an advertisement that would probably not be placed into the body of a thread or reply.

My question is, am I doing something wrong? Is there something that I can turn off or on? Is that just the way that it is?

Hmm, will check into it this weekend!
