Can you imagine going to the grocery store for some milk … and only being able to buy milk in a bundle with eggs, tampons, chrome nipple-nuts, an avocado, shoelaces, and a can opener?

No, neither can I.

My wife was just saying today..."Why can't we just get the Hallmark channel"? I went into the whole "they lose money" that way story.

I don't believe most channels would actually lose money. I think niche channels would actually do better, and it would make it easier for independent channels (that aren't part of the five or so big companies that own the majority of channels) to succeed. I think it's just a lie that the big companies are willing to tell in order to protect their own interests.
