Adam Baldwin is back on regular series television next season, thanks to TNT's new thriller, The Last Ship. The show also stars Eric Dane.

View attachment 2330 Baldwin has devoted fans who enjoyed his work both as a regular on Firefly and as a guest star on shows such as Stargate SG-1 in which he appeared as Colonel Dave Dixon in the respected Heroes two-parter, NCIS, CSI: NY, and Castle.

From producer Michael Bay, The Last Ship tells the story of the crew of the U.S.S. Nathan James, survivors of a global catastrophe. Baldwin stars as the ship's second-in-command, serving under Dane's character. The two do not always see eye to eye on the best course of action to take as they attempt to overcome the fallout from the disaster.

The ten episode order from TNT will have production aimed for 2014 airdates. Also starring in the new drama are Tracy Middendorf and Rhona Mitra.

Also on TNT in 2014, Dallas will return for a third season comprised of 15 episodes. Having wrapped up the Who Killed JR plot at the end of the second season, the producers insist there are still many more stories to be told involving the Ewing clan.

Southland, which just finished its fifth season between NBC where it began and TNT where it currently airs, is still on the bubble.
