Hey all, newbie here. Just moved to the US from the UK and trying to find out which satellite providers offer British TV channels. Does a DISH Satellite Installation provide access to stuff like BBC etc?

In my experience, you'll get a mix of options that have one or more of ITV, Sky, and BBC America (which carries a fair amount of BBC programming, but often days, weeks, or even several months later, and which don't conflict with US-exclusives, such as the Olympics being on NBC, or Downton Abbey on PBS). I'm really not sure what options are offered by each satellite provider.

Your local cable company will also likely have options for various UK networks, but each local market will be a little different in its offerings due to local preferences and the age/capabilities of the system. Even the major national cable companies like Comcast, Charter, etc., will vary slightly from market to market.

Regardless of anything, you'll probably have to buy an add-on package of some kind, whether that's one of the higher "tier" services from the provider (e.g., instead of the "basic" 60 channel package, you have to buy the mid-grade 150 channel package, or the "premium" 220 channel package, or something similar); or you may have to get an "international" add-on package that's likely to also carry France 24, RTV, Al Jazeera, and/or others.
