Unable to connect to miobile dvr via iphone app - DirecTV

I have the Genie HR44 reciever of which is connected to the internet, however when trying to connect via the iPhone DirecTV app an error "We couldn't connect to your Mobile DVR" comes up, this happens after putting in my password. When touching On DVR it says "We couldn't find any Internet-connected receivers." However mine is connected. What else do I need to do to view my programs through the app?
