The United States of Tara is what that is short for. This show is a great addition to the Showtime lineup. Have any of you watched one of more of the episodes to this show?

This show is absolutely one of the best shows on Showtime right now. Every episode is a treat to watch, and I have it recorded every time I come home from work. I watch it just like a movie, grab my snacks and go!

Tara Gregson is a wife and mother with dissociative identity disorder (DID). After deciding to take a break from her medication to discover the real cause of her disorder, her alternate personalties re-emerge: wild and flirty teenager T; fifties housewife Alice; and male, loud, beer-drinking Vietnam vet Buck. Tara is supported by her calm and level-headed husband Max, her somewhat troubled teenage daughter Kate and quirky, good-hearted son Marshall. Her sister, Charmaine, is not so supportive, often expressing her doubt about the validity of Tara's disorder. The show is set in Overland Park, Kansas.

I've seen previews of it, haven't watched it yet. One of my friends absolutely hated the pilot episode.

You HAVE to watch the first 2-3 episodes to completely understand the show. Once you see those first couple of shows, you will be hooked just like everyone else that watches it.

It's just one of those shows you might have to watch over a few times before you begin to like it. Start from the absolute beginning and then watch the next few shows. If you don't like it then, you never will.

I love this show! My favorite character would have to be Gimmey. How he shows up and just causes trouble, he doesn't talk, and he has a personality of a bulldog.

All of the characters that Tara turns into in the show are great. They all have their differences, which makes them so popular with the audience. If I had to pick my favorite, I would have to go with Buck. He is the BEST!
