Question: What movies would you like to see re-made on TV?

More and more of the big TV shows are adaptations, re-makes, sequels and re-boots of movies. Often we're talking about movies or film franchises from some years ago rather than series capitalizing on today's hits. We've had Fargo, Hannibal, Bates Motel (Psycho) and now Rosemary's Baby.

What do you think of these shows as adaptations? Are you happy about this trend? What other movies would you like to see re-made on TV?

I think many re-makes are just laziness and stupidity on the part of network execs. If you're going to remake a show, have a legitimate reason and do it justice.

Battlestar Galactica worked (in my opinion) because the original series was distant enough in the past, it had a good concept, and it was updated to reflect current TV trends (powerful women, philosophy, better production value). On the other hand, many of the shows they try to remake are bad ideas (Ironside) or too soon after the original (like British shows being remade with the same actors, when the original is still in production, like Broadchurch/whatever they're calling the remake.)

Hannibal works because Bryan Fuller is a genius and the cast is amazing. I haven't actually seen the other three shows you mentioned yet, so I can't comment on them.

I would much prefer shows be brought back as sequels/spinoffs, like Star Trek, 90210, Degrassi, Dallas, etc. did, rather than an outright re-imagining.
