That's all pretty darn accurate. I especially agree with the part about community. Because it's completely true: community is what keeps people interested. Amazing books aren't going to have a following if not many people read them. The same with the majority of indie films. So to consolidate many shows into one place is the perfect method to build community, on and offline.
It's interesting you say that about books especially with some of the hipster mentality out there. What I mean is that there are some bands that pass a certain threshold for popularity and there are many people who would call them sell-outs. I sort of see the point for music, but not so much for anything else and I can't figure out the difference.
