Won't connect to internet - DirecTV

We have had direct tv for about 6 months. And I think about every day we have reconnect to internet or reset our box completely. We had our internet service tested and have no issues with our phones, iPads or computers connecting. We have the Genie because the guy who installed it didn't want to run lines, I'm guessing he was lazy because he also stapled the outside line to our storm window so that sat nicely on the side of the house all summer because I couldn't get the staple out.
