Zimwell, a turkey?

On installation, the remote supplied with the Zimwell 970 would not communicate with the converter. Changed batteries, no avail. Called Zimwell for tech support, and found long waiting list, then a request to call back later. Called customer service later, and got the same message. Finally, dialed the Zimwell operator, and the same thing happened.

Think there may be a lot of people who bought the Zimwell, now calling in to find out why the unit fails to work. Time for money back and moving on.

Today is probably going to be the busiest day of the year for their tech support (besides June 12th, 2009), so that's probably one of the reasons why you couldn't get through.

Do you still have the receipt from the store you purchased it from? I'd exchange it (and make sure they don't rip you off because you've already used the coupon, just ask for a straight exchange for the same unit, or even just the remote).

In shermoo's case, it's a legitimate reason to contact the converter box tech support, but can you imagine how many people called on Feb. 17th with the dumbest questions. It had to have been a nightmare.
