I need a converter box for an old TV which we don't have connected to our cable TV connection. I think I've narrowed my search down to the Zinwell ZAT-970A or Sunkey ATB150S converter boxes. I think the Zinwell ZAT-970A looks better than the Sunkey ATB150S but the ATB150S is cheaper. Which one should I go with?

The Zinwell ZAT-970A is better rated and is more dependable, I'd go with that.

But, since you're going to spend $50 anyway, have you considered just adding a little money and buying a new TV? Prices are really low, you can get a 32" model for around $200. You'll get a thinner, lighter set with a better picture that uses a lot less energy. Remember, your old TV isn't going to last forever, and when it does die, what are you going to do with that converter box?

Also, what doe you plan on using for an antenna?

Not only that, but the LED display on the Sunkey ATB150S looks horrible. I'd go with the ZAT-970A if you have to have a converter box. It has a pretty good signal quality meter and is capable of firmware updates too. I'm not sure if it comes with a universal remote though.
